Knutsford Cricket Club has been on the site at Mereheath Lane since 1881 and in Victorian times the site was used generally as a sporting area. Tennis was played on the site in the 1930s and was re-formed in 1970.

Hockey was also played on the site between 1970 and 2004. Cricket had a pavilion on the site until 1980.

• 1981 – Sports Club formed when the clubhouse was built, principally by the Cricket Club

• 1984 - Squash section started when two courts were built

• 2004-10 - Rugby section was part of the Club

• 2011 - Archery section was started (by North Cheshire Bowmen)

• 2012 - Archery indoor range was built.
